– provide high quality outlet for the publication of local and foreign research findings and other manuscripts
– encourage Nigerian and other African scholars to publish locally
– provide a forum for intellectual debate and dialogue
-make research findings and scholarly essays available to other scholars and students
resuscitate intellectual debate in Sociology and Anthropology as well as other social sciences and humanities.
